Human Trafficking is a crime against humanity. It involves an act of recruiting, transporting, transferring, harboring or receiving a person through a use of force, coercion or other means, for the purpose of exploiting them.
Every year, thousands of men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers in the United States and abroad, even in the Metro-Atlanta areas. A group of concerned citizens, community leaders and politicians will come together to talk about this crime, what’s happening in our communities and how we can help combat this crime against our children and other loved ones.
During the seminar, the history of sex trafficking will be discussed along with how to recognize victims, the Senate Bills, the authority to intervene and who should be contacted. A special presentation from a former victim will also be presented. The seminar will be held at Zion Baptist Church, 165 Lemon St, Marietta GA, near the square, on September 15, at 6:30 PM.
